The Mob Mixer was created by Nick Poirier and Professor Michael Nitsche as a capstone project for Georgia Tech's Computational Media Program. The Mob Mixer is an application which allows for the download and playback of different tracks of music across multiple phones. It is a new way of creating a musical and social experience which was made possible using current phone technology. Mob Mixer was developed on the T-Mobile G1, a smart phone which runs Google's Android operating system. With this application, users can send, play, and mix sounds on any G1 running Mob Mixer in their vicinity. Mob Mixer explores issues surrounding the phone medium by turning the phone from a private device into a public instrument. Download Mob Mixer onto your G1 phone and become a digital DJ. |
